USAToday: LOST Soul Mates

USAToday talks with execs/writers Lindelof and Cuse about the show, their influences, their background and a couple of snippets about upcoming events on the show....
The episode is part of a season the producers say will offer more romance and adventure, examine the dynamic of Us vs. Them and â?? in one of their many cryptic references â?? play with our conceptions of time.
Er, "conceptions of time" eh?  Interesting.  Throw another monkey-wrench into the works why don't you!? ..and this:
In one scene, a knotty problem is suddenly solved by a character switch
that both stokes a new romance and stirs jealousy. Cuse says later,
revisiting The Force metaphor: "As we were working toward a solution,
the show told us what needed to happen."
I'm a bit concerned they're going to head more down the soap-opera route than they should with this.  Of course its possible they think they've deviated too far from that road already...

LOST Experience Summary

Cecilia from The Lost Blog gives us a short-and-sweet summary of the "alternate reality" thing that was going on during the off-season called "The LOST Experience."

Wonder how much of this will end up in the show along the way?

A Tale of Survival

Well, the "get yerself up to date" episode before the premiere was tonight, and I don't think we learned anything new... but two questions.

The narrator? is that Hanso? Gale? Some Schmoe(tm)?  I think it sounded different from the other narrated episodes.  And what's with the "Once upon a time" beginning? Curious.

The narrator also mentioned one thing to start off, "People were drawn to the island?" (paraphrased).  Interesting, and could lend a bit of credence to the Atlantis theorists out there.

I realize they had to get people up-to-date and ready for next week, but there was a lot that didnt' get mentioned.  I don't know if that means anything or not, but.... There was no mention of (and I mean NO):
  • Shannon or Boone
  • Aaron
  • Ethan or Claire/Charlie's kidnapping
  • Monster or Smoke (natch, John saw the trees rockin')
  • Rousseau, the Cable or the first radio signals
  • The Black Rock (other than just an image)
  • The Cave
  • The smoke pillars
  • The medical hatch
  • polar bears
  • The drug-runners airplane
  • The four toed statue?! (come on!)
  • The cut section of the Swan Film
  • Libby! Dave!
  • Desmond's connection to Penny and the radar blip.
  • The numbers were never mentioned explicitly!
And there's probably more I'm not remembering

Less than a week now!

Warning!

Heh.  Unlike Nick I had to watch the rest of this.  I mean there's only what a week!? ;-)

Not as much spoilage as he thought (I think), but it does raise some interesting questions.  All of which I'll let you guys ask!  And is that the new boy Santoro?

Spoilers Ho!

OK, if you're not into the whole spoilage thing, DO NOT follow the link below.  Clear? Good.  Lot's of good stuff on what's coming after the premiere.  Couple of real interesting items there that could prove to complicate the story.

LOST a Moving Target?

"We think we're going to blow some minds this year."

Sounds good to me Mr. Kitsis.  Bring on the plot twists, resurrect those dead folks for back stories and give it to us with both barrels.

8 days by the way.

Can't Live With 'Em...

...so this appears to be the solution? :-)

Garcia tells SciFi Wire about his theory behind the female "kill-offs" from last season, and a little hopeful insight into his character.

Future of TV is LOST

A mostly-fluff piece from TIME.com on the fanaticism (what? really? :-) ) of LOST.  A good quick read but no earth-shattering kabooms.

There was supposed to be an earth shattering kaboom.

Familiar Faces Return

This little roundup from SciFi says the following will return for the Season 3 premiere, "A Tale of Two Cities."
  • William Mapother's deceased Ethan (? wonder how they'll pull that off?)
  • John Terry's Christian Shephard, Jack's father (So I guess we're getting a Jack flashback, eh?)
  • Julie Bowen as Jack's wife, Sarah (ditto!)
They rundown some of the other cast appearing in this episode as well.  Only what, 2 weeks and a day?!
