So, its the new year, time to get back into the swing now that there's ~30 or so days to go before new episodes start.

Mythologically, the Hydra was one of the trials of Hercules. The problem with the Hydra was that once you cut off one of its heads, two more would grow back in its place.

So... Let's say for example that Mr. Benjamin Linus is one of the heads of the Hydra... Makes sense, doesn't it? Considering the way in which the Hydra station was presented. I guess you could say that Juliet might be another head.

Question is, if you "cut off" one of those heads, either by killing or otherwise eliminating Ben from the equation, what's going to happen? We can assume that it'll "grow" two more in its place? Juliet and...and Tom perhaps? Could be? Maybe we'll be seeing a split in the Others? Some sort of internal conflict? Or will Jack be able to burn the neck before the two grow back as Hercules did?

Yeah I know that's pretty silly but it just came to me in this post-holiday, pre-caffeinated state I'm in
