Big LOST Spoiler

A couple of different sources have chimed in with this.  Man.  Not sure what to think about it.  If you're interested, click through.  This is bigtime spoiler material though.
Here's my summary:  The newly found parachutist, Naomi, tells the islanders that the wreckage of Oceanic 815 was found and there were no survivors.

Let me insert my own BONK here.

So talk abounds of "alternate timelines" and such now.  I dunno about this.  If true, then this is just getting weird and not in a good way.

I mean, you then have to figure out how to intersect the timelines of those not involved with 815.  You've got:
  • Juliet, and the "magic" Richard who seems to be able to cross this timeline madness somehow.
  • Desmond, and his predecessor Kelvin
  • Our new skydiving babe, Naomi
  • AND you've got to account for Yemi's plane, Rousseau, and a few other things I can't think of at the moment.
  • PLUS...
  • You also have to wonder if any of this information made it to Mikhail's little observation post!  We saw him watching various news reports on the crash, and the destruction of the Flame was several weeks later....
SO, if this is true then the Others are aware of it.  Period.  Unless they're somehow stuck in the same F'd up timeline, and all the news reports they saw were different somehow....  And then you have to figure out where the timeline diverges and... and...

Ouch!  I think if they go this route they'd better have a definite plan on how to piece it all together, because just thinking about all of that made smoke come out my ears.

The alternative though goes back to the old "everyone's dead and in purgatory" theory which has been flatly rebuked by C&D themselves....

Grain of salt not included, but this revelation seems to be credible.  Hope they're not setting themselves up for a big bomb later on.

I don't see the problem of the timeline so far. Remember the Others have a backer outside of the island as Ben pointed out. So this backer could have made a fake crash site in order to get more people on the island, which I think.

I don't recall any problem in the script with Richard. His story checks out.

Desmond story checks out too and does Kelvin's.

You must be reading into it too deep or you are not clear with the problem you pointed out with the timeline.

Eh yeah I forgot that, that Hanso or "Jacob" or whomever could have staged a separate crash site, which has its ups and downs as a theory.

I'm just sayin :-) The speculation on the other sites was about the 'alternate timeline' business, and it just doesn't make sense to me. It's either too convenient (we'll just invent more timelines!) or too weird and complicated (like some Star Trek story arc!)

Encase nobody figured it out yet this years season finally was another one of Desmonds flash forward visions again. Yes thats right kiddies one of the longest most detailed visions of what the future would bring if Charlie died yet again this time. I know I know I'm brilliant and I gotta get a life hehe. We'll all see I'm right come the season premeire and you can say you heard it here first. Seeya
