Looking Ahead, The Next Three
Lets see what we can surmise and speculate on about the next three episodes. Descriptions from ABC MediaNet....
There could be spoilers here, so I'll leave it up to you to click thru and read the whole shebang.

5/2 - "The Brig"
The big question of this one will be, of course, what's the deal with Locke's father showing up on the island? Judging from the guest list, there'll be lots of Others, including the still-unknown Mr. Alpert. Is Cooper the "real" Sawyer from our Sawyer's past?
5/9 - "The Man Behind The Curtain"
5/16 - "Greatest Hits"
Definitely a Charlie flashback, and at last Rose and Bernard return! Along with Alpert (yet again!), Rousseau, Karl (with a K! Doh! I'm an idiot!) and new names, Greta and Bonnie? Who are they? Part of Charlie's flashback or new faces on the island?
And of course, the finale,
5/23 - Through The Looking Glass
Taking its title from the 2nd chapter of Carroll's Alice in Wonderland story, there doesn't seem to be any "official" description yet (that I can find, please help if you know!)
There are lots of rumors floating across the nether regions of the internets, including who might be "the big one" to die. Why oh why does a major player have to die? Eko? Ana Lucia? Libby? OK, they came in late, made their mark and left. Boone and Shannon? Secondary characters in my estimation. But rumors are that one of "the core" will exit. No! Don't go this route! Please! Is Joss Whedon writing the show now! ARGH!
The title of the episode is particularly curious, granted I've not read "Looking Glass" since I was but a wee lad, but Wikipedia gives a decent set of Cliffs Notes on the subject...
I'll put together a separate post on what insight we might gain from this... it looks like it could be most curious indeed....
I just hope they can pull off as big of a cliffhanger as they've been able to do twice before. Once with the hatch opening, and again with the hatch implosion and the Penny revelation and the kidnappings....
What do you think they'll leave us hanging with this time?
Technorati Tags: LOST, previews, spoilers
A newly focused Locke breaks away from "The Others" in an attempt to persuade Sawyer to help rid them of a great nemesis that has caused nothing but pain in both of their lives. Meanwhile, a new island inhabitant discloses some shocking information about Oceanic Flight 815....So will we learn any more details about the mysterious information our downed helo pilot Naomi spilled? I'm betting no, that it'll remain another one of those "new questions" for some time.
Guest starring are M.C. Gainey as Mr. Friendly/Tom, Kevin Tighe as
Anthony Cooper, Mira Furlan as Danielle Rousseau, Nestor Carbonell as
Richard Alpert, Kimberly Joseph as Cindy and Marsha Thomason as Naomi.

5/9 - "The Man Behind The Curtain"
Ben begrudgingly begins to introduce Locke to the secrets of the island, beginning with the mysterious Jacob. Meanwhile, Juliet's secret goes public.Awwww, man. I hope this one is as good and revealing as I'm anticipating. Alpert returns yet again, as do all the current (and past!) Others. Notice Alex in the guest list? Wonder if we'll learn who her real daddy is? Also notice that Rousseau is not there.... Makes you wonder.
Guest starring are M.C. Gainey as Mr. Friendly/Tom, Tania Raymonde as
Alex, Andrew Divoff as Mikhail, Nestor Carbonell as Richard Alpert,
Marsha Thomason as Naomi, Sterling Beaumon as young Ben, Jon Gries as
Roger Linus, Carrie Preston as Emily, Doug Hutchison as Horace,
Samantha Mathis as Olivia and Madeline Carroll as Annie.
5/16 - "Greatest Hits"
While Jack devises a plan to do away with "The Others" once and for all, Sayid uncovers a flaw in "The Others'" system that could lead to everyone's rescue. But it requires Charlie to take on a dangerous task that may make Desmond's premonition come true.Hm. Once again I find myself torn between the rumors of a character's demise and the future of the show. The last time was with poor Mr. Eko. In his case it all made sense, even though they killed off one of the greatest character contrasts, Eko and Locke, and just left that to die. Events on the island, though, may not make that as bad as it sounds.
Guest starring are Tania Raymonde as Alex, Blake Bashoff as Karl,
Nestor Carbonell as Richard Alpert, Mira Furlan as Rousseau, Brian
Goodman as Pryce, Marsha Thomason as Naomi, Neil Hopkins as Liam,
Joshua Hancock as Roderick, John Henry Canavan as Simon Pace, Jeremy
Shada as young Charlie, Zack Shada as young Liam, L. Scott Caldwell as
Rose, Sam Anderson as Bernard, Andrea Gabriel as Nadia, Lana Parrilla
as Greta and Tracy Middendorf as Bonnie.

I'm thinking specifically of when Ben asked him "Bring me the man from Tallahassee" and voila, Cooper appears more or less instantly.
Either they had him on the island already, or Alpert was somehow able to bring him there really fast.
I think there is more to him and his role in the big picture than we know.
Or I missed something really really important and obvious, which is possible
