LOST: The Other Woman [ANALYSIS]
Much to talk about! Just read on already!
Return to "The Formula"
In a way I'm glad they went back to the tried and true LOST formula, of the character-based flashback. Although I'm still trying to resolve exactly how it relates back to Juliet on the island, now. Sure the whole "Ben thinks I'm his" thing, but I'm wondering if there's going to be some kind of jealous bitchy catfight thing going on between Juliet and Kate now. I surely hope not.
Looks like next week we'll probably return to "flash forward" mode, and learn the final member of the Oceanic Six. Can't wait!
Richard Widmore
Well, like I said in the recap, the answers are just a-flowin out this season. Penny's father is indeed in charge of the freighter mission, at least according to Ben. Which means that Abaddon is a part of that camp, and so is Naomi, and indirectly or directly (we just don't know yet) the rest of the freighter group.
But you have to wonder if what Ben says is true? Surely it can't be a simple matter of wanting to turn the island into a big miracle "come and get healed" theme park? That would really be a let down.
And how does Penny fit into all this? Is she part of daddy's scheme or has she gone and done this all on her own? With daddy's money no less?
One other variable in the Widmore equation that I haven't seen talked about: Libby. Remember her? The one that Desmond's sailboat is named after? Yeah. Was Desmond's involvement in the race just a covert plot to find the island?
The Tempest
Ah, another DHARMA station. Excellent. I couldn't make out what the insignia of this bunker was, but I'm sure someone out there did. The big question I have, is if it is merely an electrical station, whats up with the gas tanks?
I mean, sure Ben had Goodwin up there setting it all up, but why? As a final "self destruct" mechanism?
How did Faraday and Charlotte know about it, anyway? It would seem that not only does Ben have a man on their boat, but maybe they've got an agent on the island already? Curiouser and curiouser.
Harper, and the Whispers
So. Juliet and Jack heard the "whispers." Was it ol' smokey? Or is the sound something else entirely. Was that really Dr. Harper or some entity presented by Jacob. Maybe it was Jacob telling Juliet how to find them, and doing it in a way so that she'd think it was Ben?
I dunno, that little scene was just odd. I wonder if we'll run into Dr. Stanhope again?
The List
Don't know if you caught it, but the way Ben spoke about "The List" was rather interesting. "Who are we to question who is on the list?" Which would suggest that the list was handed down from Jacob. I don't think Ben would speak that way about anyone else. So you've got to wonder, why were those people on the list? Hm.
..
Other than that I can't think of anything to overanalyze right now. I'm sure I'll come up with something, though.

"Alright. But you might want to sit down."
So who's on the boat? Jacob, Old Smokey, Libby, Boone, Shannon, that couple that got buried in the sand after the spider bite, Ben in another universe. Who?
I think next week they'll let it slip.
Who will be the "last" of the Oceanic 6 revealed next week? 1 or 2 people if you don't count Aaron?
