LOST: Meet Kevin Johnson [Analysis]

We find out the real story behind Michael's return, along with a few surprising twists, a few new questions, and a couple of things that make you go hmmmm?
Rousseau

So. Rousseau is dead? Just like that. Seems a bit of a letdown to me. I was hoping there would be more to that story, and there just may be.

What's more interesting is the connection in this episode between her and Michael. Both are having issues with their children. The difference, is that one wants to die and can't. The other, has found something to live for, and meets a quick and untimely demise. Life isn't without a sense of irony it seems, and neither is LOST.

Michael

Did anyone else find themselves wondering when Michael's off-island adventures were? At least until Tom shows up and tells us when it is. I know I was confused. I thought for a minute they were going to give away who was in the coffin. Unfortunately not.

So I wonder why "the island" has such an interest in keeping Michael alive? Is he really part of a larger plan that the island and/or Jacob has? How is it that Michael gets to go back so easily, and Jack seems to have such a problem. Doesn't the island like Jack?

You have to wonder, too... what will the captain do to him now that he's been exposed? Will the island continue to "protect" Michael?

Also note that the headings that Ben gave Michael at the dock, and that Faraday gave Frank were different. Both in the 300 range, but significantly different enough.

Tom

Um. Yeah. I'm not going "there." But he did say something interesting when Michael asked him if they just came and went from the island.

"Some of us can," he said. So some of the Others have an innate immunity to the mind-screwing time-traveling effects? Seems a little convenient. But then again Michael did make it off the island.

Walt

So, again. Um. It's obvious that Walt didn't go back to the island with Michael. So what or who was standing over Locke in the pit? Stop toying with us!

Karl

Confidentially, I don't think I'm going to miss him.

Libby

The real WTF moments of the show for me though, was the brief appearances of Libby. Just Michael's Jiminy-conscience-cricket screaming out, or something more? Makes you wonder.

I'm sure there is more but I can't think of it at the moment. I'm sure you guys will correct me and fill in the blanks ;-)

Walt-on-the-island with Locke was the smoke monster, just like Mr. Echo's brother. Damon has said we've seen the smoke monster many times without realizing it.

As soon as they sat down, you KNEW Karl was a goner. But Rousseau was a shock. And for irony, Alex was running because she's Ben's "daughter," but apparently that's what will keep her alive (for now).

One thing that I haven't seen mentioned yet -- The very first scene between Alex, Claire and Aaron...did the camera seem to be focusing on Alex's midriff for an extra long second or two?? Now that Karl's back, is she with the "fatal pregnancy syndrome? I'm just saying...

Yes, I noticed that too, and wondered if that was why Ben was acting concerned so she would take off with Karl and Rousseau, so he could have them killed, and then deal with her the way he wants.

We've seen Libby several times in Hurley's flashes too (remember the one with Dave in the mental institution??)....coincidence???
