Hmph. I really don't care much for these "filler" type of episodes, so let the flaming commence. I suppose the plot got moved along a little bit, but in the end only a couple of tiny semi-important things happen.
The most important being we get to see what started Jack's downward spiral in the future. And frankly, its a letdown.
Jack's DownfallSo a brief vision of his Dad started all of this?
That is what starts his collapse into booze and pills? Sure, there's probably going to be more to it, but man, when he starts down a path he really goes all out, no?
I suppose the fact that Hurley told him it would happen. Actually
Charlie said it would happen might have something to do with it. So when will we see him again, anyway.
ClaireAnd not only does ol' Christian show himself to Jack, but to Claire as well. And this time he does a little interaction with the physical, as he picks up Aaron. What's up with that? So we're no longer dealing with pure "visions" here?
More importantly, was he really there? Miles saw him, but we know Miles has certain gifts in that area. Maybe he saw the "ghost" or whatever, too?
CharlotteI guess, also, that it makes sense an anthropologist type would speak different languages. Wonder if she'll make good on her promise? And must we even suggest that there'll be a Charlotte/Faraday tryst? I mean, really.
Kate and SawyerSo anyone care to guess what Kate's doing for Sawyer. Especially since he's still on the island and she is not? Something to do with his daughter maybe?
Was it just me or did Kate's character seem a little too "at ease" with the life she's got now? Maybe now that everything's behind her, it might end up that way. Dunno, just seemed a bit too perfect. Like Hurley said.
JulietAnyone else wondering if Juliet slipped something into Jack while she had him open? Or am I just as paranoid as Jack?!
The Big OneI think, though, that the big question is: What are the ramifications of Christian Shepard "appearing" to Jack,
off the island ? I'll just leave it at that.
Next week might prove to be a little more satisfying, as it seems that Locke (or Hurley) might finally find Uncle Jacob's Cabin. I smell a mind-job coming!
Also, Bernard was in the surgery with Juliet and Jack, so he would have seen if Juliet slipped something into Jack.
