Oof-Da! Big Bonk Time (tm) at the end of this one, no doubt. But other than that, there's really only a few points to discuss here... read on for the results.
Kate and SunSo does Sun
really blame Kate for Jin's death? That was a bit strange. Maybe it was she who set the attorney's loose on Kate? And what of the Agostini and Norton. I keep thinking I've heard that before, but for the life of me I can't recall where. Does Sun have some sort of plan in store for Kate to get at Ben?
Ben's ConnectionsWe know that the Others have elements back in "the real world." We saw this when Tom found Michael in New York, and when Alpert and Ethan recruited Juliet. There is more to this network that we've been lead to believe. Who is Jill? Are all of these "displaced" Others looking to get back to the island as well?
Flaming ArrowsAssumption: The flaming arrows came from "The Hostiles", assuming that we are back in that time frame. Can't presume any more at this point.
Hurley's MomOK, so Hurley's mother now knows the whole truth. Will anything come of it? Is she now in danger from Widmore and/or Ben? I can't help but think that something's going to happen here to push Hurley and make him change his mind.
Ana LuciaDid anyone else practically spray their drink all over when she showed up? Going back to Hurley's other visions, is this the island at work here, or just Hurley's mind? What of the "Libby says hi" crack?
HurleyAnd of course Hurley has to go throwing a monkey wrench into the works by getting himself arrested. This even after Ana Lucia specifically told him not to. You could almost draw a conclusion that perhaps Ben and "The Island" are working together to put things right, if in fact Hurley's visions are a product of the island. Can't wait to see how he gets out of this one.
DHARMAWere the guys that Sawyer and Juliet ran into DHARMA or something else? What's to become of them?
Mrs. HawkingThis of course is the big bonk I spoke of. I'm really not sure what to make of this one.
The computer and electronic equipment in the basement would suggest some sort of connection between her and her kind and DHARMA, wouldn't it? And de facto to Ben? This connection is most puzzling. Or is it just another case of "the Others" co-opting DHARMA tech for their own gains?
The map and the pendulum, what a nice bit of imagery that was, no? I will have to go back and watch that frame-by-frame to take in all of the details.
We can only assume that she's trying to find the island as well, in order to "put right" the timeline that will no doubt be messed up someplace. Despite what she told Desmond previously about "course correcting" and all that.
Bigger question: Is she, in fact, Faraday's mother that he spoke of in the last episode? I'm leaning towards yes.
Here's another thought, and one I'm not quite anal enough to have deduced from just watching it once.... was that the monastery where Desmond was at? It would make sense, given the Friar's photo of Hawking on his desk....
Aside: The Bitchin' CamaroDid anyone else notice the Camaro was back in Hurley's garage? I thought he wrecked it back in last season sometime, when he got arrested and subsequently put in the asylum. Guess they got it fixed, lol!
