German website SerienJunkies got an interview (4 pages!) with Terry during the Festival Großes Fernsehen (Big TV Festival?)

He brings up an interesting point. We haven't seen a flash forward with Locke yet, unless you count his brief (and deceased) appearance in the S4 finale....

But you have to keep track where on the time line all these things are supposed to happen to John Locke?

Yes, but in Locke's case, so far, he has only had the past and the present. As far as I know. Nobody has told me anything else. Both of those things are very clear to me and they are very clear to him. So, it's really not a challenge to me. It's more complicated for the fans of „Lost“.

And, um, yeah, this.

On the internet, we came across some websites which seem to suggest that you are the source of rather erotic fantasies from some of your female viewers. How do you cope?

Could you write them down for me? (laughter) Because I don't think I have seen them yet. I would like to have those, just to be able to show them my wife once in a while. How do I cope? I haven't been confronted with this problem. But I look forward to it. I haven't met them, and maybe if I met them, I would rather they stopped. But I like to live with my illusions. I can pictures them now, all of them. And they are gorgeous!

Oh, to have your problems!

Link: Lost:«I only have to keep track of John Locke...» - Serienjunkies.de

I don't know exactly how, but he's going to be fine. I suspect that the difference between Michael's and Jin's survival is that Michael was trapped inside the hold, whereas Jin being up on the edge of the deck meant he had a chance to be blown clear of the ship. Besides, the guy magically survived the crash of a 747 and the wreck of the raft. No reason he shouldn't survive this shipwreck—I choose to believe the Island clearly joins us all in loving him and wanting to keep him around.

Um, OK?

The UCLA Asia Institute has an interview with Ken Leung, aka the ever "sardonic" Miles from LOST.

APA: Based on what I've read and heard about the acting experience on a show like Lost, where because everything is kept so under wraps, you often don't have a sense of where the character is going beyond the episode you're filming, I'm wondering what kind of challenges that brings in terms of preparing for the role.

KL: It's really hard, because you're kind of preparing in a bubble, and you're not sure if you're in a vacuum. You prepare the scenes that you're doing so they make sense to you, and you're coming from some perspective, and it's really up to you to make decisions on why you do things or what you're after. Meanwhile, you know that it's your own concoction, and you really don't know how it ultimately fits into the grand scheme of the story. So it leaves you feeling a little isolated in that sense. So it's really hard. I'm finding it really hard.

Since it's going to take a while to do the recaps for parts 2 and 3 of this three-hour LOST epic, I figured I'd go ahead and do the dirty work first. God knows this is going to take long enough as it is.

We finally gain some insight into the inner workings of the island, as Ben shows us what's down below. We find out the identity of the corpse in Jack's coffin, the real identity of the person we only knew as Jeremy Bentham. This and so much more. But like all finales, these tidbits of knowledge come at a cost....

I've put all of this together in no particular order, so here it goes.

Continue reading "LOST: There's No Place Like Home [ANALYSIS]"

If it weren't for Doc Jensen over at EW, I just might be a slightly saner person! Lots of good things to think about this week from the Doc and his fans. From wild theories about where the island will end up, to something I'd been contemplating recently:

...about the Island's volcano back in season 3, if the writers didn't intend to go somewhere with it? So, I might be completely off course, but my finale prediction: volcanic eruption (caused by Island moving and/or Keamy's explosives), which would of course lead to all kinds of running and screaming amongst the left-behind castaways. Can't wait to see, if I'm right!'' — Martin from Cologne, Germany

To which the Doc responds, quite Zen-like: "Martin is my most favorite person on the planet right now."

I think the Doc knows something we don't. Yet.

(You also gotta love the LOST Bingo card that the fans came up with there... classic.)

Link: 'Lost': A night to 'move' on? | Lost | Doc Jensen | TV | Entertainment Weekly | 1

The writers have also confirmed that perhaps a time will come that "flash" will no longer be required.

Keep in mind that this is only a rumor, but I can see this making sense. But not for every episode. You have to figure that Locke, the rest of the islanders, AND The Others still have relevance, and trying to tell the island story completely in flashbacks would be, well, just dumb.

I'm predicting that the episodes will either be island-centric (Locke, The Others, Ben?) OR O6-centric (Jack et. al. back home) with flashbacks/forwards where relevant. And if that means flashing back to the island to maybe fill in some blanks then so be it.

What I would hate to see, would be flashbacks from O6 time, back to 'island-future' time. That would just get too confusing, I think. Where the O6's would be going "back" to a time that hasn't yet happened on the island, and then trying to fit the island stories into that.... ARGH. My head hurts just thinking about it.

Two more days!

Link: Rumours: Future Will be Present Time in Season 5!?

OK, now that I've had time to sleep on it, my mind is still reeling from last night's total mind blowing episode. So many details, so little time.

In 'Cabin Fever' Locke, Ben, and Hurley are on a mission to find the mysterious and never-stationary cabin of the equally mysterious Jacob. While on the freighter things take a turn for the worse.

Our flashback, or rather series thereof, dealt with Locke's past, and some familiar faces show up where you'd least expect it.

This one is rather long. While you (like me) are drooling over the prospect of learning more about the secrets that Uncle Jake's Cabin may hold for Locke, Ben, and maybe Hurley....

I suggest you do a read of the wacky Doc Jensen's take on this week's episode. For once he doesn't sound like a total madman and parts of his theorization make sense, and might get you back up to speed on some of the island intracacies.

Where is all of this leading to on Lost? Perhaps Jacob will give us a few more hints tonight. I suspect he knows SOMETHING of altered realities. In this creepy entity, whose only line to date has been, ''Help me,'' I sense a trapped soul who has had something stripped from him, and I don't mean his body. I wonder if here, on an Island that seems to stand at the crossroads of All Possible Worlds, what/who we see trapped here inside this otherworldly outhouse is a man who never really was. In other words: Could Jacob be the version of Charles Widmore that somehow, some way got flushed out of existence? Maybe.

OK, Doc, but this whole Jacob/Esau road you're going down leads to one obvious question: Who are we to parallel to Esau in this story?

I particularly like the bit about Horace Goodspeed.

Horace Goodspeed may have one of the most convoluted names in Lost lore. If I had to guess the inspiration, I would say HORACE = the ancient poet Horace (famous sayings: carpe diem, or ''seize the day''; aurea mediocritas, or ''golden mean,'' a concept that expresses both mathematical and spiritual equilibrium; and dulce et decorum est pro patria mori, or ''It is sweet and fitting to die for one's country''). And GOODSPEED can only = Stanley Goodspeed, Nicolas Cage's scientist character in The Rock! His specialty: Chemical weapons! By the way, you remember what ''The Rock'' is in The Rock, right? It's Alcatraz. Which is a prison. On an Island. Policed by sharks!

Pop culture references meets Greek Classical, gotta love it.

Link: ''Lost'': Jacob, reveal thyself! | Lost | Doc Jensen | TV | Entertainment Weekly | 1

DocArtz has posted up a rundown of the heiroglyphics which could be seen on the stone door in Ben's secret room.

What's really interesting, is the parts in the second line. "Master" or "Priest" and "Man with weapon".... Bear with me a bit. This is the first thing that came to mind when I saw that....

Anyone remember our favorite Tailie, Mr. Eko. The (OK so he wasn't really a...) priest? With his "Jesus stick?"

I wonder if it's mere coincidence or not? Might Ben have ordered Ol' Smokey to take out Eko? Did Ben see him as a threat? Or maybe the island/Jacob intervened in order to prevent the inevitable conflict between Eko and Locke? The possibilities are endless, and since Eko (and that entire exploration of duality) is gone, I guess we'll never know!

Since it's now apparent that the smoke monster is (at least in part) under Ben's control, or at least his beck-and-call, you have to go back and look at just about every instance we've seen it....

Link: Lost Easter Eggs - Lost Easter Egg - Hieroglyphics Explained!
