Of course Locke can leave the island. How many of the others did we see off and on the island? And now he has them to "explain everything they know" according to Ben.
Many people suggest that there is no aging on the island, but I wonder if it is more of a usage of time travel. Think about how one of the others, Richard if I recall his name right, went to visit Locke as a child holding items- one of which was already Locke's despite the wear all objects had accumulated.
The submarine wasnt the only way off the island- any boat will do- think of Michael leaving. I would guess that there are other methods.

I need the help of all the Lost/Planet lost fans out there...I need to know if there was any biblical referrence to Locke carrying his dead father on his back to the others camp in "the brig/man behind the curtain". I thought there was a thread that said something to that effect, but I can't find it. Really desperate. Please help

I was also thinking the same thing. He was on deck and could have easily jumped or been blown clear of the boat into the water. Plus, Feraday was on his way to the boat with the next load of people. They could have picked up Jin. Don't know if they were close enough to have gone with the island when it moved or not.

Locke made an interesting comment to Jack at the Orchid Station saying that if he leaves, "the knoweldge of the island will eat you from the inside out." It clicked in my head that the island could be the garden of eden holding the tree of knoweldge of good and evil. That same tree which adam and eve ate from and were exiled forever. I know its a stretch, but it could explain the lists (believers vs. nonbelievers), the lack of aging, the multiple references to such Christian authors as C.S. Lewis, the fact that the island, "garden", needs to be moved so as no one will find it, inability to give birth, that ben is not allowed to return to the island and the contiuing theme of free will vs. destiny. I don't know. Could Jacob be "God" or is he the "tree"? I am not a deeply religious person, but I feel like there are some parallels to adam, eve and their garden. "According to this tradition, Adam and Eve would have attained absolute perfection and retained immortality had they succeeded in withstanding the temptation to eat from the Tree. After failing at this task, they were condemned to a period of toil to rectify the fallen universe. Jewish tradition views the serpent, and sometimes the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil itself, as representatives of evil and man's evil inclination." -from Wikipedia. In all major religions there is some reference to a tree providing bliss, knowledge or transcendence early on in their originations. This could also help explain the other religious overtones, (Hindu, Buddhist, etc.) This theory may have already been presented or could be off the wall, but just a thought.
Thanks for your insight this season. Great show!

Oh man, there are so many stories left to tell in the next two seasons. That is good.

Why does Kate say, "sorry" to Aaron? Is it because she already knows she has to take him back but doesn't want to?

I think there will be a war of wills with Desmond and Penny about which direction they should take...with the O6 or against the O6.

I wonder if Walt has to go back too since "Jeremy" visited him. And you could tell that Hurley didn't want to tell him that his Dad is dead.

I think Locke decided (or was told by Jacob) that he had to go gather the O6 (and maybe Walt too) back to the island, so that is why he left the island. He does have a "savior" complex.

Thanks for all of your work this season.

Oh man, I like that theory on how the Black Rock got there. Never occurred to me! Awesome!

Yeah after doing the recaps I noticed that I wrote that Faraday was still on the water when he saw the light, so maybe he was still 'in range'

I didn't touch on how Ben wound up in the desert. That just either kind of happened, or hasn't been explained yet....

ok, so did the black rock ship deep in the jungle get there cause it was in the middle of the ocean when the island "popped" up in that location? are the other others the pirates from that ship? what's with the not aging thing?
solves how ben got in the middle of the desert.
i think the life raft was close enough to the island when it moved to move with it.
some funky stuff going on...
how about that hint of an actor strike? kind of tacky if you ask me.
thanks for your website, you're the greatest man!

So how the heck did John Locke get in the coffin? He would never leave the island!

yes, people noticed the time lost = mittelos thing when mittelos was first introduced last year. Who the hell is Abbadon? That was not Ben in the flashbacks, it was John. John didn't know his mother because she ran out on her, and then she comes back to him when she's 50ish and that's how the whole Anthony Cooper thing gets started. That was John's foster mother that was taking care of him when Richard came. Nevermind on Abbadon, I lostpediad Abbadon.
