Yeah! This will likely be the last post to this site evar, but I had to share this with you all. I finally got my LOST blu ray "Complete Collection" box set in this weekend, and thought you might like to see what its made of. Lots of pix to follow... (sorry about the quality on some, I used an old camera that was a bit shaky on the no-flash pix....)

Yeah, I know. Nothing from me since way back a couple episodes in. Just didn't have the time or energy to put into this thing anymore. Since I started this thing back in season 1-2 whenever it was, other folks had done it better. I gave up. Plus I found myself struggling to enjoy the show while typing furious notes for the recaps and analysis posts, and just wanted to soak it up.

Like last night.

So no big recap, no big point-by-point analysis... Just a few of my thoughts on the series finale.

What Kate Did

...was not a whole hell of a lot. At least not from what I gathered. Got away from the cops, took alter-Claire to the hospital.... Went after Sawyer... and uh, well....

Sorry, guys, didn't get a whole lot out of this one. Maybe its just me. Here's what I did get, though.

Island Claire
Claire's on the island. Although its not spooky-attitude Claire from the cabin. Looks to be a rather Rousseau-esque version of Claire. Rather deja-vu don't you think?

LA Claire
Kept Aaron from escaping, and uh, met Kate. Didn't get to give up baby for adoption. And... sent the cops away, helping Kate out.

Sayid
Alive! Or is he? So what-in-the-bloody-hell. "Infected?" By smokey? By Jacob? Whose side are these guys on, anyway?! Why the you-know-what would Jacob send him to the temple to be "cured" if this would happen? And why would Dougen want him dead?

Dougen
Going to spell it that way. In Japanese its either the name of a Zen Buddhist monk that lived c. 1200, ??. Who interestingly enough penned a little book called Shoubougenzou, or "Treasury of the Eye of the True DHARMA." Yeah, nice. More on the monk Dougen at Wikipedia.

Or it means "the same origin", ??. The same as what? I might be missing something as it could just be a name, but since when is a name just a name around here?

Ethan
Posing as a doctor in LA going by the name of Goodspeed. Nice bit of juxtaposition given his OTHER involvement with Claire... Unknown if DHARMA even still exists in this timeline, or if he's got any sort of intentions, etc.

Other than that... Auto shop guy ring any bells for anyone? Didn't here. Hopefully the events of this episode prove to be vital connecting glue later on, or I'm just missing something. Please correct me brutally in the comments!!

Interesting. That's what I'm coming up with. Interesting.

(keep in mind that I'm purposely keeping myself out of the spoiler-loop, so if some of these observations are old-hat, my apologies....)

And no, I'm not doing recaps this time around. Found it much more enjoyable when I wasn't trying to scratch down what's happening and trying to keep up. Sorry!

At least one "mystery" of the island is at last revealed. That being the identity or what-have-you of our old pal Smokey. Yes, folks, its the MiB, Jacob's Nemesis. Actually this came to me watching "The Incident" last week. Yeah, duh, I know, should have seen it.

The bomb went off, and nothing happened. Or did it? Yes! ... and no! Or, uh, or something. It would now seem that we are dealing with two distinct and separate timelines. Not a future/past thing like we've had before, but two totally separate parallel paths. Did you hear the "swoosh" when switching between the two? It's noticably different than the old "flashback" swoosh. Giveaway!

But, as usual, more questions and problems arise. Here's my take:

Less than a Week to Go!!

...Until the much anticipated LA X.

Here's the deal. I've avoided reading ANYTHING relating to the upcoming final season. No spoilers for me (or for you!) at all.

Actually I'm not sure what this last season holds in store for this site. I got a little weary of the "connect the dots" serial plot-lines and the departure from a character-based story the past couple of seasons. "The Incident" had plenty of potential to return to that, what with the MIB and the tables turning on Ben etc.... I guess we'll see. If you see my usual recaps I'd be surprised. It's taxing trying to take notes AND take in an episode all at the same time.

So, enjoy the final season of LOST. I hope I will be surprised, shocked, and left going WTF!! At the end of it all. Stay tuned!

LOST: The Lie [RECAP]

Continuing the story in this two-part event is "The Lie," which we all know (don't you?) refers to the story the Ocean Six fabricated in order to protect the island from Charles Widmore.

Most of the episode centers on Hurley, and his dealing with the guilt of leaving everyone behind, and the events that have occurred in his life since he's left. Of course we also get a peek back to the island, where (as usual) strange events are occurring.

The wide world of Benjamin Linus and the Others... off the island also start to take a curious twist, with a real WTF moment at the end...

...well, read on for the recap.

The stories of Ben, Jack, Hurley, and Sayid off the island, three years into the future (with a touch of Kate and Sun) are more or less intertwined, but we'll summarize that story last.
